The Inspirational Female Entrepreneur: Sheryl Sandberg

Updated: Sep 3, 2021

Many women have risen through the ranks of the startup world to become some of the most powerful people on the planet. Now, when we think of one of the top names in the startup world, we think of Sheryl Sandberg. According to Fortune, she is one of the most powerful women in the world, and she is an inspiration to everyone!

Sheryl, for example, has successfully transitioned from Washington to Wall Street or Silicon Valley. Others, on the other hand, have earned celebrities outside of their professional duties as executives. Sandberg, a former senior Treasury Department official, has completed both of them. As a result, she is more of a mix of hard work and celebrity.

Sheryl Sandberg has served as Facebook's Chief Operating Officer since 2008, as well as being elected to the company's Board of Directors in 2012. She was previously the Vice President of Google's Global Online Sales and Operations. In addition, he has worked as the Chief of Staff for the US Treasury Secretary.

Lean In by Sheryl Sandberg

Sheryl Sandberg's debut book, Lean In, was a huge success. It's on the best-seller list and has sold over a million copies since its release. Sheryl Sandberg's book Lean In sparked a global movement that reintroduced feminism into the mainstream. She knows not only the CEOs, but also celebrities like Oprah Winfrey, Bono, and Michel Bloomberg by first names.

Senators, senior White House officials, and prime ministers frequently report on her. While she has the kind of charisma that everyone would want on their team, she opted to be the second in command at a corporation where the odds of becoming the boss are almost none. She went on to write another book, Option B, about how to cope with loss after she unexpectedly lost her spouse.

Sandberg is currently focusing on the issue of mobile advertising. Sandberg has control of Facebook's commercial side, as Mark shifted his engineers to emphasize mobile applications above the website. She's been pushing for ad formats to be simplified, and she's held biweekly meetings with ad and product executives to ensure that the user experience is balanced with the objectives of advertisers.

She discloses details of conversations she had with top executives from various companies in order to provide insight into what the situation necessitates. The end consequence of Sandberg's work is self-evident.

Mark Zuckerberg, the company's CEO, forecasted that mobile income will account for the majority of Facebook's revenue. As a result, Sandberg has been fairly compensated for her work. In 2012, she made roughly $26 million in cash and shares. The value of Sandberg's Facebook stock and options is estimated to be around $704 million! Aside from that, she holds a total of $277 million in unvested stock and options.

Sheryl Sandberg's leadership style is revolutionary because she believes in both praising and encouraging her colleagues' accomplishments.

While some Facebook executives claim that Sandberg has not missed a chance to contribute, others claim that Lean In has been distracting and has taken up a significant amount of her time. However, they claim it was only for a short time. Sandberg has become an international sensation as a result of the book. It has aided in the retention and recruitment of female engineers and executives.

Women now oversee the company's global sales, public policy, mobile engineering, European operations, and a number of other critical divisions. Only one of Sandberg's five direct reports is female, and all of Mark's six direct reporters are male except for Sandberg. Sandberg appears to be a source of inspiration for women.
